This was my first time trying float therapy, and it was absolutely incredible! ⭐️

I booked a 60-minute massage followed by a float session. Before the massage, the therapist took the time to ask about my concerns and adjusted the pressure to exactly what I needed. I carry a lot of tension in my upper back and hips, and the massage truly melted away my pain and tightness.

I was a little nervous about the float at first, but the entire experience was so soothing and calming that I actually fell asleep in the water.

The space was peaceful, clean, and welcoming. I left feeling completely refreshed and relaxed.

This was my first ever massage and magnesium bath. 1000/10 I have been chasing the high of relaxation that this place has provided since Ive left my appointment. My Masseuse Niesha was so down to earth. Her Energy was so calming. everything was so clean & tidy. they give you everything that you need for your magnesium bath. I visited Journey Within Wellness after grabbing a Groupon for an hour-long massage and an hour-long float therapy session, and overall it was a really interesting and refreshing experience.

My massage was done by RiRi (I believe that was her name), who I later found out is a former Olympian in boxing; which was such a random but cool fact. She definitely brought the energy you’d expect from that background: strong hands, great pressure, and a solid sense of what she was doing. She also had a great personality and made the session feel comfortable and easy to enjoy.

After that, I went into the float therapy session for an hour. The vibe in the float room is super quiet, dark, and calming. It’s definitely designed for deep relaxation and mental reset. I went in thinking I’d completely zone out, but honestly, I had a bit of a hard time fully relaxing and found myself just kind of looking around and adjusting at times. Not a bad thing, just depends on how naturally you can settle into that kind of environment. If you’re someone who really enjoys peaceful, zen spaces and can disconnect easily, this will probably hit perfectly.

One thing I do wish I had done differently is bring a book. While some people may fall asleep or fully meditate, I think having something light to read would’ve been a nice way for me to stay relaxed without overthinking or fidgeting.

A couple of practical tips: definitely use the earplugs they provide, and make sure to shower afterward. Also, double-check the location when booking. I accidentally went to the wrong location and ended up about 45 minutes away, which made me about an hour late. Thankfully, the staff at this location was very understanding and accommodating, which I really appreciated.

The facility itself is very clean, modern, and easy to access, and parking was simple with no issues. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re looking to try something different, unwind, and step into a calm, low-stimulation environment....more

Riri is outstanding. I’m a big fan of deep tissue massage, especially from someone who truly understands injuries, pressure points, problem areas, and stretching, and she absolutely does. I’ve lived in North Bethesda for almost 2 decades and have tried many massage places. I even used to drive to Columbia to see my favorite therapist. After she moved away three years ago, I’ve been searching for the right person ever since, and I finally found her at A Journey Within.

Riri has an incredible ability to pinpoint exactly what needs work and combine deep tissue with expert stretching in a way that brings real relief. It can be intense at times, but in the best way, because she truly knows what she’s doing. I felt so much better afterward.

The location is also super convenient, right across from Pike & Rose, with its own parking garage and street parking available. The space is unlike any typical massage place, with a cool atmosphere and beautiful art created by the owner. I’m so happy I found this spot, and I’ll definitely be back to see Riri regularly....more

It's always a pleasure coming here! I first tried the salt float therapy several years ago via Groupon at their Ellicot City location but recently went to the Rockville location for the first time and had an awesome experience! It is worth it even without the Groupon and will definitely become a more regular self care day for me worth investing in! I now have tried both the open float and the enclosed float room, and both are wonderful! The ambiance, the cleanliness, the customer service is always fabulous, and adds to the relaxation and vibe. Parking is a bonus, and they offered me water and I believe also have coffee available. I was given Vaseline and ear plugs and the pillow in the float to help keep head above water which was super helpful. Bring slippers but otherwise they provide you with towels, there's shampoo and conditioner and body wash in the float rooms, and the music is incredibly relaxing, so I almost fell asleep! I slept wonderfully after I returned home, it was the deepest sleep I had in a long time! I plan to return soon! I do plan on experiencing their other offerings but at this time, I have been mainly enjoying the floats! Can't wait to return!...more

A salt water float is like sleeping in warm water heaven. Went for an open float with my girlfriends, then a closed float alone. Carlos is always friendly and helpful. Parking garage is free, and we can park at BANK spots. Go through the blue marked doors. They provide earplugs, vaseline for cuts, and floating pillows. Hard to not get salt in the head, but I got better the second time. Relaxing and beautiful and not claustrophobic. Groupon was great value. Wish they had plastic bags in room for wet swimsuits. Just had a great experience at Journey Within Wellness Center in Rockville! Since it was my first time, I arrived early before they were officially open but they still answered the phone when I called to make sure I was parking in the right spot, and then even met me at the door in the garage so I didn't have to walk out in the rain. I also got a quick tour since I was the first appointment. My massage therapist was running a little late due to bad weather and traffic but I was treated to a 30 minute float. It was very relaxing and my skin felt great afterwards. My massage with Chelsea was fantastic. She used great pressure and checked in with me throughout to make sure everything felt good. I left feeling very relaxed and refreshed and I hope I can return for another massage soon!...more

Graciela is amazing! Super knowledgeable and skilled especially in women’s health issues. If you are a c section mom she is great with scar work and section rehabilitation. She was knowledgeable about all body parts but being a post partum mom we really focused on that and she knew tons about breastfeeding and reproductive health. Would definitely recommend!!!...more

I’ve been going here since before Covid and I love journey with in wellness. The float pool is so relaxing I could do it everyday. I would recommend this place over and over and I do. This is a very special place with very special people.it is filled with colorful art that makes you feel welcome and invigorated and peaceful. Jamie is the best massage therapist I have ever worked with. She knows her muscle and faschia groups so well and can fix whatever is bothering you.
