I visited Journey Within Wellness after grabbing a Groupon for an hour-long massage and an hour-long float therapy session, and overall it was a really interesting and refreshing experience.

My massage was done by RiRi (I believe that was her name), who I later found out is a former Olympian in boxing; which was such a random but cool fact. She definitely brought the energy you’d expect from that background: strong hands, great pressure, and a solid sense of what she was doing. She also had a great personality and made the session feel comfortable and easy to enjoy.

After that, I went into the float therapy session for an hour. The vibe in the float room is super quiet, dark, and calming. It’s definitely designed for deep relaxation and mental reset. I went in thinking I’d completely zone out, but honestly, I had a bit of a hard time fully relaxing and found myself just kind of looking around and adjusting at times. Not a bad thing, just depends on how naturally you can settle into that kind of environment. If you’re someone who really enjoys peaceful, zen spaces and can disconnect easily, this will probably hit perfectly.

One thing I do wish I had done differently is bring a book. While some people may fall asleep or fully meditate, I think having something light to read would’ve been a nice way for me to stay relaxed without overthinking or fidgeting.

A couple of practical tips: definitely use the earplugs they provide, and make sure to shower afterward. Also, double-check the location when booking. I accidentally went to the wrong location and ended up about 45 minutes away, which made me about an hour late. Thankfully, the staff at this location was very understanding and accommodating, which I really appreciated.

The facility itself is very clean, modern, and easy to access, and parking was simple with no issues. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re looking to try something different, unwind, and step into a calm, low-stimulation environment....more
